Om Prakash said his daughter filed her nomination papers as a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate for PK-25 constituency, a general seat in the KPK assembly from the hilly Buner district. She also filed nomination papers on a seat reserved for women in the KPK Assembly.

Sawira has filed nomination papers on the request of party senator Rubina Khalid and provincial leaders. He will be formally given the party ticket at a PPP rally in Buner on Wednesday. Salim Khan, a local politician associated with the Qaumi Watan Party, said that for the first time a woman will contest from the Sawira Prakash Buner seat.
Meanwhile, 25-year-old Savera Prakash told Dawn that she filed her nomination papers on December 23, 2023. Sawira is the general secretary of the women’s wing of PPP in Buner. Saveera’s father is also a doctor. He has recently retired. He has also been an active worker of PPP for the last 35 years.
